Nipponzan Miyohoji Walks for Peace in Portland

Today! BPF of Portland provided the lunch for this group of marchers for peace and justice.

Thanks to Malcolm Chaddock and Sarah Hobbs, both of Veterans for Peace, for their kind and efficient organizing.

These two women had last seen each other in 1986, at a march organized by Nipponzan Miyohagi Buddhists. Today, one of them, on her way to work on her bicycle, spotted the other at the assembly spot, at the Japanese-American Plaza.

More pictures of the morning activity. There was also a convening at Peace Memorial Park at an AME Church in the NE, and a potluck dinner at Wilshire United Methodist Native American Fellowship, near Wilshire Park. Try 3917 NE Shaver at 6 p.m., and if you don't find the group, look in nearby Wilshire Park.
